IFDM 2010 will be held on September 20-22, 2010. Pre-registration and a Welcoming Reception will be held on September 19, 2010.

Q. Who is hosting IFDM 2010?
IFDM 2010 will be hosted by the California Department of Industrial Relations and the California Commission on Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation in association with the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commission.

Q. Who should attend?
The forum will bring together a diverse international audience, including: employers, unions, policymakers, government representatives, worker representatives, disability management professionals, health care providers, advocates for employment of workers with disabilities, risk managers, insurance representatives, and the public.

Q. What language(s) will IFDM 2010 be presented in?
IFDM 2010 will be presented in English. At this time, no translation will be provided.

Q. How accessible are the conference venue and meeting rooms?
All meeting rooms are located on one floor of the Wilshire Grand. Elevators are available for your convenience to access the Ballroom level.

Q. Is it too late to propose a session for IFDM 2010?
Yes. The IFDM 2010 Call for Papers ended on December 31, 2009. Although the IFDM 2010 program has been finalized, you may want to consider applying for inclusion on the IFDM 2012 program to be held in London, United Kingdom.

Q. What types of sessions will be offered?
The IFDM 2010 program includes over 30 sessions and features over 100 speakers from more than 20 countries. Most of the sessions will feature multiple presenters who will present papers organized around a unifying theme. Sessions are generally organized around the following learning areas:
  • Public Policy and Government Initiatives
  • Employer Disability Management Programs
  • Medical Issues
  • Issues, Techniques and Tools for Disability Management Practitioners
Q. What is the IAIABC Annual Convention 2010?
The International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions will host its Annual Convention on September 20-23, 2010 in conjunction with IFDM 2010. Programming at the Annual Convention 2010 will include presentations, committee meetings and roundtable discussions to provide in-depth analysis of workers' compensation regulation and administration from an international perspective.

Q. How do I register for IFDM 2010?
Registration is available online.

Q. What are the registration fees for IFDM 2010?
IFDM 2010 Early Registration:         $625 USD     Registrations by July 1, 2010

IFDM 2010 Regular Registration:     $750 USD
IFDM 2010 Late Registration:          $800 USD    
Registrations after September 7, 2010

All registrations are payable in US Dollars to the IAIABC. Payment of all registration fees must be received by Tuesday, September 7, 2010. After this date, a $50 late payment fee will be added. Immediate payment, via credit card, is required for all registrations received after September 7, 2010.

The following additional events are available for purchase for IFDM 2010 attendees:

The following meals are included in your IFDM 2010 registration:

Q. I am a vegetarian. How can I order vegetarian meal options?
Vegetarian options will be available at all IFDM 2010 meal functions. You do not need to order a vegetarian meal in advance.

IFDM 2010 Welcoming Reception: Meet disability management peers from around the world while enjoying hors d'oeuvres and cocktails at the historic California Club.

Additional Tickets: Guest tickets for the IFDM 2010 Welcoming Reception are $75 USD and should be purchased in advance.

IFDM/IAIABC President's Reception: IAIABC President, Frances Huntley-Cooper, hosts this special reception for IFDM and Annual Convention attendees. Appreciate the modern architecture of the Walt Disney Concert Hall while enjoying lively discussion with new and old friends.
Date: Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 1800-1930
Additional Tickets: Guest tickets for the IFDM/IAIABC President's Reception are $100 USD and should be purchased in advance.

Q. Are there other social events during the week?
Individuals who register for the Annual Convention 2010 may also attend:

IAIABC Annual Banquet and Dance: Conclude an enriching week of education, networking, and information sharing with dinner, awards, and dancing at the Wilshire Grand Hotel.

Q. What is the IFDM 2010 discounted hotel rate?
The discounted guest room rate for conference attendees at the Wilshire Grand is $179 USD per night (plus tax) for a standard room, single or double occupancy. Reservations will be accepted at this rate until August 17, 2010.

Q. How do I make reservations at the Wilshire Grand?

Q. I am an IFDM 2010 speaker, should I make my own hotel reservation? 
All IFDM 2010 speakers should make their own reservations at the Wilshire Grand.
